Our pastor is Rev. Dr. Joseph E. Bush, Jr. Dr. Bush is a Professor at Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, DC where he teaches ethics on-line for those studying for Christian ministry.

Before coming to Sparta Hill he served internationally, preaching on two Methodist circuits in the Republic of Fiji and serving as interim pastor at Grants Braes Union Parish (Presbyterian and Methodist) in New Zealand. Prior to that, he served as a pastor in New Jersey where he was ordained. He has taught theology, ethics and ministry at: Drew University, Rutgers University, Pacific Theological College in Fiji, Presbyterian School of Ministry in New Zealand, University of Otago, United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities, and currently at Wesley.  He is the author of two books: Practical Theology in Church and Society and Gentle Shepherding which was named one of the top 10 books of the year by the Academy of Parish Clergy for the year in which it was published.
